Question
I NEEDED TO REMOVE TWO LARGE PURPLE-LEAVED BUSHES FROM ALONG THE WALL OF THE SOUTHERN FACING SIDE OF OUR HOME. THEY WERE PLANTED ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF A LARGE SILVER-LEAVED WHITE POM POM BUSH. THE REMOVED DYING BUSHES WERE APPROXIMATELY 10 ‘ TALL AND 15’ WIDE. I’D LIKE TO REPLACE THEM WITH SOME TYPE OF SHORT EVERGREEN PAIRED WITH SPRING/SUMMER LONG BLOOMERS. I HAVE IRIS, PEONIES, AND HOSTA PLANTED ALONG THE PERIMETER OF THE GARDEN. ROSES DO NOT DO WELL FOR ME. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!

The shrubs you are removing sound similar to a Cistena Plum or purple leaf sand cherry. I like the fresh approach you are taking to your landscape. With your zone 6 garden, you have many plants choose from. I really like Technito or Technito Globe Arborvitae for a smaller maturing evergreen. Straight Talk Privet is another good option.
