Question
I purchased 1 Summer Crush which came with lots of old dead sticks. After 3 weeks of planting, I can see some new leaves growing out but very tiny. I just cut al dead sticks, I’m not sure it can grow bigger and bloom in the first year? I just feel it’s not growing.
Answer
Actually, your hydrangea looks healthy. The new growth is coming along just fine. And, that is a sign that it appears to be settling in and the roots are getting established. Take a look at our Endless Summer planting and care guide for suggestions on fertilizing. It might be time to give it a little boost. Be certain to follow the package’s label. With fertilizer, too much is not a good thing.
