Question

Watering tips please!

Answer

Does the container have drainage holes? Though hydrangeas love water, they don’t love having their roots sit in water as it can lead to rot. When watering, be certain to water at the base of the plant by the roots rather than overhead. This will help keep the leaves healthy. How much water depends on how much sun it receives, rainfall, and other weather conditions. Plants dry out faster on hot, sunny, windy days. Drooping leaves and flowers are one clue a plant needs a quick drink. I generally water container plants daily or every other day in the summer depending on the weather. And, less frequently in the spring and fall. Our container gardening guide has additional tips to help you grow a healthy hydrangea.
