Question
Why do my hydrangea turn a dull color by early August?
Answer
Is it the leaves that are dull or the flowers? It takes quite a bit of energy for a hydrangea to produce the huge flowers. Next spring, think about fertilizing your hydrangea. If the flowers are getting dull at the end of the season, it is ok to deadhead them or leave them on for winter interest.
