Question

I BOUGHT THIS ENDLESS SUMMER LAST WEEK. THE LEAVES TURNED BROWN AND SOFT. I’M NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED. IS IT BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER? LAST FEW DAYS IT SNOWED IN OUR AREA. THE TEMPERATURE DROPPED TO -2 DEGREES AND SPRING SEASON IS ALMOST OVER.

Answer

Whether plant or human, sudden drops in the temperature are no fun. Through in some snow in May and it just gets worse. The hydrangea should recover just fine. However, you may find that some of the leaves and tips of stems need to be pruned off. Once your weather evens out, follow the directions on our hydrangea planting and care guide and apply fertilizer.
