Question

Where on the endless summer stem do I cut the blooms when I want to use in vases or because the bloom is spent and needs to be removed?

Answer

The Endless Summer deadheading hydrangeas video shows how to trim off spent blooms. With garden scissors or small pruners, trim off just above the next set of leaves. For longer stems to use in vases, at the length you want for the vase, cut just above a set of leaves. Be certain to leave some flowers on at the end of fall to overwinter in the garden. Then, in early spring, snip off the dried flowers.
