Question

When and what is the best way to remove Hydrangea blooms once they are turning brown, or cycled through their color?

Answer

I have a great video for you! Deadheading hydrangeas shows how to snip off the fading flowers. Remove them just below the flower head and above the next set of leaves. Doing this will help encourage flowering later in the summer and into fall. Towards the end of fall, I stop deadheading and leave some dried flowers on to give winter interest to the garden.
