Question

Leaves are burned, brown and crunchy

Answer

Crunchy leaves are generally a sign that a plant isn’t getting enough moisture. Hot, dry, windy days are often the cause. New plants, especially, will react this way when going from a garden center where they are watered one or more times a day to a garden where they are watered less frequently. Until established, new plants in the landscape need extra water.
