Question
I want to properly prepare my darling for colder weather. I live in an apartment so I don’t have a basement or anything similar. What precautions should I take (if any) to preserve her? Is she ok near the patio door? I’m investing in a sun lamp for my hibiscus, should I use for her also?

Answer
Your hydrangea looks gorgeous! Since it is inside and not getting hardened off for winter out in the garden, you could use a sun lamp or keep it in a sunny spot to keep it going through the winter. Normally, I recommend letting container hydrangeas go dormant and then overwintering in basement or garage. Take a look at the container gardening guide for additional information.
